Having the right speakers for your home theater room - correct size, proper sound output, and fitting aesthetics - brings the entire room together in one cohesive piece. When looking at new home speakers, consider the size of the room, the appropriate speaker size, the number of speakers that you are going to be using, and what is within your price range for sound equipment. You may also want to consider more aesthetic items like speaker placement and the overall look of your home theater design with speakers.

When it comes to finding home speakers, the first thing to do is analyze the size of the room. You want to take a good look at how much space you have, and then do some calculations about your speaker placement and number of speakers. For instance, if the room is very large, you are going to want to place your speakers much higher. If it is small, speakers on the floor will cut down on echoes and make it easier to align your entire sound system. In-wall speakers are another option that will allow you to have quality sound from all parts of the room without dealing with the potential clutter of floorstanding speakers.

The next thing to consider is the size of the speakers themselves. Each speaker type (front, side, subwoofer) come in different sizes depending on how they will be mounted, the quality of the sound and the type of application they will be used for. Larger speakers may be able to give you richer, deeper sound but that sort of sound may not be necessary for the size and layout of your particular home theater room.  Additionally, quality speaker manufacturers are improving on the sound quality of smaller speakers every year.  Large room sound may soon not require the use of large floorstanding or cabinet speakers. Consider the size of the in-wall speakers you prefer as well. The size of the speaker will equate to the portion of your wall that will need to be removed in order to place the speakers. The number of speakers your room needs is another item to consider. Several of the speaker brands offer different lines of speakers that include three, five or seven speaker configurations. Consult with a home audio technician or custom installer about what is the best proportion for your home if you are unsure of what you will need.

Home theater equipment is available in a wide range of pricing suitable for any budget.  Quality speakers by top-brands are available within the range of average home owners and top of the line speakers are also available for audio junkies who have a fine ear for sound and a fascination with the technology.  Don't let pricing stop you from getting the right type of speakers for your home. Sound offs are not new to the World of car audio. In fact, they have existed since the early eighties and have continued as an annual event. Although this event started in California with probably only a number of car audio fanatics, it has now expanded all over the world, since the evolvement of car audio manufacturers in the competitions.

Today, car audio manufacturers help shape the rules of the car audio ‘sound off', as well as sponsor individual competitors. With the improvement of car audio technologies, also came the focus in these competitions of sound improvement. For instance, with large subwoofers and powerful amps many car audio fans have competed for high quality sound as well as intense volume.  Up until the 1990's, the chief focus was volume, but this changed around 1990 with the improvement of car audio technologies and the nationalization of car audio competitions.

Although most competitions are very similar, there may be a different style of viewing  the car audio system, depending on the type of competition and judges. For instance, you may drive through to a special booth for them to check out your car audio gear, or they make walk around the grounds viewing each car individually.

You may also find specific differences between completion, depending if it's local, regional or global. Usually, the bigger the competition is (for instance global) the stricter the rules.  Because the competition is much stronger, the rules are much more hard lined.

In the competition there are two main focuses, the installation quality and the sound quality. ‘Sound offs' put much more emphasis on the sound quality, however, technical knowledge is still an important component to the competition.  Besides this, a car audio competitor will be judged on frequency response and sound pressure levels. However, these are not as heavily weighted in the point casting system, as technical installation and sound quality.

Car audio competitions are often managed by car audio manufactures, who make the technologies used. Hence, it is expected that competitors use the newest technologies and the best out there, in turn creating the best car audio system possible.  It not only shows off some of the best audio systems and the competitors' technical knowledge and skills, but allows manufacturers to see what they can improve upon.

Car Audio or Video is used to describe a mobile audio, made to distribute sound to an automobile. Even though a car audio was originated for an automobile, they can also be used in other areas such as: mass transit, aviation, and marines. However, the most common use for car audio or video, is for cars or trucks. In today’s world, modern day cars have an audio system which is referred to as a head unit. A head unit is placed into the center of the dash board between a driver and passenger.

Years before the car audio’s evolution, these devices were placed externally on the top or bottom of the dash. The head unit of a car audio has many purposes for its installation. The components of a head unit are as follows: a radio receiver tuner with AM and FM bands, and media devices (CD player, DVD player, tape player, etc.). The units also feature equalization components such as treble and bass controls, in addition to odometers, navigation systems, etc.

Car Audio/ Video were first introduced in the 1930’s from the Galvin Manufacturing Corporation. During this time, the inventors placed the car radio on the market for an average of 0. This basic Motorola radio could be installed into many popular automobiles.

Nonetheless, from the 1930’s up until now, car audio continues to be used in many cars and other transportation mobiles. Although there are now many different names or brands for car audio, they all will continue to serve the very same purpose.

Basically an amplifier, this box should have a high definition output and as many inputs as possible - at least one for every component you plan to hook up to it; like games consoles, a cable box etc. In terms of sound and speaker combinations, 5.1 is perfect for most home use.
