IPod nano is the fourth digital audio player of Apple and combining features of both iPod shuffle and iPod. It was launched on September 7, 2005, it replaced iPod mini, which was discontinued on the same day. The alternate of the iPod mini took Apple-related websites, any how there were rumors about a new flash memory-based iPod, in fact there were not prior notice given related to the discontinuation of the well accepted iPod mini.

Growth of this new design of the iPod nano is started only nine months before the launch date. The iPod nano posses more flash memory storage than that is been used in the iPod shuffle and carries a miniaturized version of the amazing color screen and click wheel are found on the full-sized iPods. The screen as well has a higher declaration than the old grayscale iPod mini, permitting one more line of text than the iPod mini's screen. The battery and few other interior parts were as well reduced in size. The surface of the click wheel is to some extent textured, permitting superior tactile feedback for secretly operation. Also, the main button on the second-generation iPod Nano is to some extent concave, mainly likely so that it could be easier to find without finding. Unlike all other players in the iPod family, the iPod nano has a headphone-out located in the bottom right of the player.

Features

The iPod nano operates with iTunes on Mac OS X or Microsoft Windows (third-party software is obtainable for platforms, which Apple does not support). It connects through the same proprietary wharf connector as any other third-generation iPod, the fourth-generation iPod, and the iPod mini, uses a USB 2.0 port on the user's computer. Although it uses the similar connection as Apple's FireWire iPod Cable and could charge its battery over FireWire, the iPod nano does not bear coordinating over a FireWire connection. The iPod nano comprises a stop watch and a numerous time zone clock function. There is also a mixture lock feature, which makes use of the click wheel to lock the iPod, and serve up to secure the user's calendar and other contact information. It was also the first iPod to comprise a new lyrics screen, modifiable using iTunes.

A lot of people are encountering various problems with their iPod devices. iPod restore issues, blue, black or white screens, erase, connect and transfer problems, iPod won't turn off (!), iPod falls into water, videos are not showing properly, audio is corrupted during playback and a lot more. The thing is that many of these issues can be resolved by following a basic troubleshooting routine every time you face a minor or major problem with your iPod.

- First of all, you got to make sure your iPod is turned on! A lot of people get so enthusiastic with their iPods forgetting the fact that the iPod is still an electronic device that uses batteries. And batteries must be fully charged. No batteries, no electricity, no iPod. So make sure your batteries are properly and fully charged before turning on your iPod.

- Restore your iPod. You will find all the information you need to restore your iPod at the apple website. Always restore your iPod using the latest updated software. Keep in mind that restoring your iPod means that you will lose all songs and other files and all settings will be restored to their original value.

- If you can't connect your iPod with your computer via a USB or FireWire port, try a different port. It may not be your iPod's fault but the USB's or FireWire's port fault instead. Try restarting your computer if the problem persists. A lot of compatibility issues have been reported, especially with the Windows XP operating system. A simple system restart might be the solution to your iPod connection problems.

- Another common mistake is the Hold switch mistake. If you forget the Hold switch in the locked position your iPod screen will show a lock image telling you that you have to turn the Hold switch off before turning on your iPod. A lot of new iPod users tend to forget the Hold switch on, thus believing that there's something wrong with their iPod when they try to turn on the device.

- Try resetting your iPod. This usually solves a lot of issues. To reset your iPod connect it to the iPod AC Adapter and plug the adapter into an electrical outlet. Alternatively, connect your iPod to your computer's built in FireWire port. Turn on the Hold switch and turn it off again. Finally press the Play/Pause button and hold it until the iPod logo appears.

- Keep updating your iPod's firmware. Firmwares keep updating all the time. Be sure you always have the latest firmware for your iPod. You can download the latest firmware for free at the apple website. Also try to reinstall your iTunes software. Always have the latest iTunes version installed. You can download the latest iTunes version for free at the apple website.

It's not always the iPod's fault if something goes wrong. Use common thinking troubleshooting techniques before throwing your iPod in the garbage.

Usually the problem can be resolved easily. Visit any of the thousand iPod forums to find solutions to your iPod problems. Apple maintains a great support forum at their website. I am also sponsoring this popular iPod download community that will connect you with thousands of iPod users and help you find your favorite movies, music, TV shows and a lot more.

Amazon.com Product Description--Posted September 9, 2008
With eight amazing colors, a new curved design, and great new features, iPod nano rocks like never before. The Genius Playlist feature finds the songs in your music library that go great together and makes a playlist for you. With its built-in accelerometer, iPod nano is made to move. Give it a shake, and it shuffles to a different song in your library. Turn it on its side to flip through your album art in Cover Flow. And tilt, move, and play accelerometer-inspired games (games available separately). Watching movies, TV shows, and video is even more fun on the sharp 2-inch screen. And your photos (up to 7,000 of them) look great in portrait or landscape view. Available in 8 GB and 16 GB models, the 8 GB iPod nano puts up to 2,000 songs or 8 hours of video in your pocket. With a new curved design and great new features, iPod nano rocks like never before.
