  1. Do you want to listen to music while swimming? 3 choices:

    1) Purchase a waterproofed iPod, and pay $200 plus.

    2) Purchase a case or pouch and risk getting your valuable, delicate iPod wet, and killing it. (It WILL LIKELY happen; it’s only a matter of time), or

    3) Buy a cheap 2Gig or 4 Gig waterproof MP3. They are Chinese, will set you back less than 50 bucks, will hold about 500+ songs (What? Are you crossing the pacific ocean?), sound quality is adequate, and you can leave your iPod safe and dry in your locker, car or at home. They even come with dry AND wet headphones.

    Just a suggestion.

  2. It seals well, but the way that the door opens into the waterproof space makes it impossible to get anything that’s not much thicker than a piece of paper into it! Needs to be redesigned.

  3. It took me a long time to fit my iphone 3G into the case. It also isnt very comfortable. That could be attributed to the fact that I have larger than normal arms (thank you Chuck Norris workout). I honestly just think I am not in the armband market. Another big problem is that it appears that its designed to work only with a specific type of headphone. If that is true, then it makes it much less valuable.

    Best of luck

  4. For those that value device security and long-term durability over light weight and svelte appearance, this is the product.

    PROS:

The mechanic in me is quite impressed with the construction, from the polycarbonate door with the O-ring seal, to the coiled angle connector tipped cable inside allowing connection to devices with bottom or side-connection of the headphone jack. The armband is made of a durable, grippy material. I could see this working very well for a swimmer (with the optional waist extension belt and waterproof headphones) I purchased this item to use my Blackberry with stereo bluetooth headphones while running. The compartment is large enough not to accidentally compress keys when I have my GPS route tracker and music running.

    CONS:

Size and weight. A necessary trade-off. As heavy as the device is, it will migrate down your arm during a run and sit against your elbow-nook. This is a small price to pay for being able to protect a $550 phone I depend on for everything.

I should close by saying that for larger devices, I have tried a variety of other armbands, designed for iPod Classic or generally larger devices. The Griffin unit I use during milder weather often constricts my keypad and requires me to remove the unit to start/stop my GPS. A weaker, pouch-style waterproof unit I have tried tore where the band slid through the back of the pouch. This product is worth the money!

  5. well i bought this product and was amazed in the beginning and i would do more laps than ever. who wouldn’t enjoy music while swimming. i even wrote some good reviews about this product.

but then came the disappointment. my biggest fear came true. I discovered that water had actually entered inside the area where i placed the ipod touch. initially i thought maybe i had not closed the lid properly but this goddamn thing actually leaked. the transparent plastic material they have used had fine opening at the edges. maybe its my bad luck that i got a defective piece but my brand new ipod touch is dead. i would never recommend this to anyone
