What is the best connection to use from my cable box to TV?

Currently I have a coax cable connecting my digital cable box to my TV. I recently found out that this is not the best connection. It appears that I do not have HDMI or component ports on my cable box but I do have an S-video port. Should I connect the cable box to the tv by S-video? If I do so, will I also need to connect the two with an audio cable?

I don't understand why any connector (hdmi, component, s-video) from my cable box to tv would improve the connection over coax. The cable line (from the outside) that goes into the cable box is coax. Why would it improve if the cable goes through the coax and then one of the above connections??? Isn't the quality already diminished due to the coax cable from the outside??? I'm a bit confused...thanks!

First off you NEED a HD box from your cable company.Then you need a HDMI cable or Component Cable (red,blue,green) with audio(red,white). Both will give you better picture than you have know. HDMI does audio and video
Digital cable is sent to your box via numbers 0's and 1's which you cable box "converter" translates into a picture.

Can't take digital picture?
I have a investigational toshiba hdtv. I cannot get any digital signal. I enjoy the antenna hooked up to the television and enjoy gone through two and cannot get any signal whatsoever. I know the channel i'm entering are right. So whats going on? Please help. And no stupid answers. Full detail answers. Is here a setting change you enjoy to make for HDTV built surrounded by tuners?

Circuit City TV warranty issue.?
We purchased an RCA HDTV monitor about 3 years ago and purchased the 5 year extended warranty plan. The tv broke over a month ago and the repair man have been out 5 times to no avail. We be finally given an authorization code to get a trial TV, however, Circuit city no longer sells this TV or anything close to the specifacations. Everything is plasma or DLP immediately. Our TV cost us $1000 + $400 for the warranty when we purchased it, can we expect a $1000 credit or a replacement TV with impossible to tell apart price? Is this going to be a battle? Any tips?

Comcast Digital Cable Box Flickering?
I have a cable box going right into the tv for comcast digital cable. Its a single dvr motorola component. Ever since moving it across the room and using a diffrent cable coming up from the floor into the box, the channels flicker constantly. It's not freshly the digital channels any, even the discovery channel does it. The nouns and video cut out for a second and then come put a bet on on. This happens every 10 second when it's really bad. I wanna see if I can do anything to fix it first until that time calling comcast and getting someone here to see.

Computer DVI-HDMI-TV color problem?
I have a macbook and i bought an adapter that connects the DVI to a HDMI so that i can connect to my tv. Everything connects clearly and i can see it on the lcd Tv. here is the problem. the colors seems to be curved down really low. I tried configuring the color on the TV, but nil is happening. I just get my 2 coupons for converter boxes and I'm pleased to see that most eligible boxes would be reduced to about $20 beside coupon... however I have be searching through them for one that offer the option of disappearing the resolution format as-is, and outputting via component video. Every one I've seen have only composite out, and conceivably RF or coax, for a max of 480i. One had s-video but still couldn't do progressive scan. I class of suspect there's a rule forbidding it now, which make no sense. Doesn't the government read between the lines that those of us who have HD-ready TV's are a moment ago as SOL next February as everyone else? The coupon program is vitally to provide digital tuners to people whose TV sets don't hold digital tuners. What difference does it make if your TV is HD-ready, it still doesn't own a digital tuner. Does anyone know of a coupon-eligible converter box that also allows HD output? Or one that at least will output surrounded by progressive scan?

do the pictures look really poor on the lcds/plasmas compared to the crt tvs? Yes, they save space but for me they are still means of access behind crt for model quality.
