Is there anything that can split digital audio out of an hdmi cable for xbox 360?

I have a monitor with a high resolution and to use it to the full potential i have to use an hdmi - dvi from the xbox to the monitor. I know there is a cable that splits analog audio out of the hdmi, but I want digital audio.

By digital do you mean "Optical"
If so, yes.
You can either split open the casing of the Official Compoent lead (which has an optical port on it), meaning you can get a HDMI lead and Optical lead (in the component slot) in the back of your 360.

Alternatively there is an official (but expensive HDMI/ Optical audio lead for 360, however I don't think the other end would be in DVI for your monitor :S

If you have the component lead (I got one with my 360 as well as HDMI), then just break open your component lead, both Google and YouTube will have guides on it (I used 1 from google).
